Using mobile phones for communication in emergency departments is a common practice; however, several studies have demonstrated that they may act as vectors for bacteria and viruses. This study evaluated the effectiveness of plastic wrapping in decreasing bacterial contamination on mobile phone surfaces.

Isolated Hyponatremic Dehydration in the Setting of COVID-19–Associated Gastroenteritis in a Toddler

Recently, there have been numerous reports from Europe and the United States of an emerging post–COVID-19 multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. There have also been a number of children with an acute COVID-19 infection presenting as gastroenteritis with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The patient in this case report is the first to be reported with isolated hyponatremic dehydration in the setting of COVID-19–associated gastroenteritis.
