The Spectrum of Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Patients With COVID-19: Predictors, Relationship With Disease Severity, and Outcome

82% percent of patients with COVID-19 in this study were asymptomatic, and 10.3% had GI symptoms. Severe and fatal disease occurred only in 5% and 2%, respectively. The presence of GI symptoms was associated with a severe illness and fatal outcome on multivariate analysis.

Acute Abdominal Pain as Presentation of Pneumonia and Acute Pancreatitis in a Pediatric Patient With COVID-19

Abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting are known gastrointestinal symptoms of symptomatic COVID-19 disease in pediatric patients.  There is little literature regarding pancreatitis in COVID-19. This case study describes a 16-year-old male diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in the setting of a COVID-19 infection and associated fluid balance considerations.
